• What is Over 50 Life Insurance?

• How does over 50 life insurance work?

  Zestylife Over 50 Life Insurance is a whole-of-life policy meaning that provided payments are kept up with, it is guaranteed to remain in place for the duration of the insured individual’s lifetime. When you choose a policy with Zestylife, your loved ones are guaranteed a lump sum payment when you pass away. You choose a benefit amount that meets your needs and a rate of monthly premiums that you can comfortably afford. Once you’ve secured your policy, you will have protection from day one.¹

• What does it cover?

  Unlike other Over 50 Life Insurance providers, with Zestylife you’re covered from day one.¹ If you pass away at any time during the first 12 months of your policy from any cause, you are covered up to £5,000. There’s also double the full benefit amount covered from death as a result of an accident for that first year. This means that once your policy is put in place, you’ll also be covered if you were to contract coronavirus and subsequently pass away. From the policy anniversary after your 95th birthday, your cover will be free.

  
  

• What does it not cover?

  If you pass away due to a non-accidental death in the first 12 months, there is a maximum of payout of £5k. If you miss two consecutive monthly premium payments, your cover will stop. If you lie on your application or leave out important information your policy will not be valid.

  
  

• Do I need Over 50 Life Insurance?

• Am I covered for coronavirus?

  Yes, if you already had a policy with Zestylife and were to contract coronavirus and subsequently pass away, you'll be covered under your policy.

  
  

• What types of Over 50 Life Insurance are there?

  Zestylife’s Over 50 Life Insurance is a whole of life policy. This means that you pay monthly premiums until the policy anniversary following the 95th birthday and your loved ones are guaranteed a payout when you die. After you reach the age of 95 your cover is free. Unlike term life insurance, which has a policy end date, a whole of life insurance policy ends when the person who's insured dies.

  You can choose to take out a single or a joint policy. With a single policy, you are insuring just one person under the policy. So, if you die, your loved ones will receive one payout.

  A joint policy, on the other hand, is where you insure two people under one cover. Your premiums will be calculated according to information required from both policyholders. Usually, a payout is made when the first person dies, and the policy then ends. With Zestylife, there are two payouts for each life insured with a joint policy. One when the first person dies and a second when the remaining person on the joint policy passes away.
